Materi Microsoft Access : Working with Access views and Finding records



How to navigate between records :
  1. In the navigation area at the bottom of a table, query, or form, use the arrows to move to the first, next, previous, or last record in the record set.
  2. To find a specific record, in the navigation area’s search box, enter text related to  the record.

How to find records
:
  1. On the Home tab, in the Find group, click Find.
  2. In the Find And Replace dialog box, in the Find What box, enter text related to the record you want to locate.
  3. Use the Look In, Match, and Search lists and the Match Case option to specify conditions that Access will use to locate records.
  4. Click Find Next.

Materi Microsoft Access : create and modify a relationship



How to create a table relationship :
  1. On the Database Tools tab, click Relationships.
  2. If the tables you need aren’t displayed, click Show Table in the Relationships group (on the Relationship Tools Design tool tab), select the tables in the Show Table dialog box, and then click Add.
  3. Drag the linking field in the first table (the “one” table in a one-to-many relation-ship) to the second table (the “many” table). Access displays the Edit Relationships dialog box.
  4. In the dialog box, be sure the linking fields are selected in the Table/Query and Related Table/Query lists.
  5. In the Edit Relationships dialog box, select Enforce Referential Integrity if you  want to enable this feature for this relationship. If you enable referential integrity, select one or both of the Cascade options.
  6. Click Create to establish the relationship and close the dialog box.

How to modify a relationship :
  1. On the Database Tools tab, click Relationships.
  2. In the Relationships window, right-click the relationship line between two tables, and then click Edit Relationship
  3. In the Edit Relationships dialog box, make changes to the relationship (for example, select Enforce Referential Integrity if  that option is not yet selected), and then click OK.

How to set a primary key :
  1. In the Navigation pane, right-click the table, and then click Design View.
  2. Select the field or fields you want to designate as the table’s primary key. To select multiple fields, press Ctrl and select the fields.
  3. On the Table Tools Design tool tab, click Primary Key.

How to remove the primary key designation from a field :
  1. In the Navigation pane, right-click the table, and then click Design View.
  2. Select the field or fields from which you want to remove the primary key designation.
  3. On the Design tool tab, click Primary Key.

How to change the default  file format :
  1. Click the File tab, and then click Options.
  2. In the Access Options dialog box, click General.
  3. In the Creating databases area, in the Default file format for Blank Database box, select the file format you want as the default, and then click OK

Materi Microsoft Access : Using Quick Start elements


How to insert a Quick Start element as an application part :
  1. On the Create tab, in the Templates group, click Application Parts.
  2. In the Application Parts gallery, click the Quick Start application part you want to add.
  3. If prompted by Access, complete the Create Relationship wizard to set up a relationship between the table being added by the application part and a table already defined in the database.
  4. Right-click the entries for any forms added by the application part, click Rename, and then enter a name for the form.
  5. Right-click the table added by the application part, click Design View, and then re-view the fields and properties defined in the table.
  6. To add controls, fields, and formatting to a form, right-click the form’s entry in the Navigation pane, and then click Design View or Layout View

To create an Access web app :
  1. On the startup screen or the New page, click a template thumbnail for a web app (use the search box to locate a template that’s not displayed), or click Custom web app.
  2. In the App Name box, enter a name for the web app.
  3. In the Web Location box, enter a URL for the site where you want to store the web app, or use the Available Locations list to specify the location.
  4. Click Create.

Materi Microsoft Access : To create a desktop database


To create a desktop database :
  1. On the startup screen or the New page, click a template thumbnail (use the search box to locate a template that’s not displayed) or click Blank desktop database.
  2. In the File Name box, enter a name for the database.
  3. Click the folder icon to the right of the File Name box if you want to store the database in a location other than your Documents folder.
  4. Click Create. Access prepares the template and opens the new database.
  5. If the Message Bar appears with a security warning, click Enable Content.

MOS 2013 Access Skill Measured


This exam measures your ability to accomplish the technical tasks listed below. The percentages indicate the relative weight of each major topic area on the exam. The higher the percentage, the more questions you are likely to see on that content area on the exam.

Materi Pelatihan Microsoft Office Specialist for Access


Sertifikasi internasional untuk Microsoft Access sama dengan Microsoft Powerpoint, hanya memiliki satu level yaitu level specialist saja. Untuk sertifikasi Access ini saya sudah mencoba ujian untuk versi Access 2010 dan 2013. Soalnya sangat pendek, kita diminta langsung mengerjakan apa yang diperintahkan tersebut di file yang sudah disediakan. Sertifikasi ini cocok untuk mahasiswa. Dibeberapa kampus ada mata kuliah database, yang praktikumnya biasanya diisi dengan Microsoft Access.

Saran saya sebaiknya materi di sertifikasi ini dijadikan standar pembelajaran dikampus, sehingga mahasiswa mempunyai kemampuan/skill yang diakui secara global, dan diakhir semesternya bisa diikutsertakan ujian sertifikasi internasional MOS untuk aplikasi ini. Jika lulus ujian sertifikasi maka nilainya langsung dikonversi menjadi A, jika tidak lulus maka ikut ujian kampus. Ada kampus yang sudah menggunakan sistem ini dan saya ikut menjadi pengajarnya disana.
 Untuk karyawan dikantor aplikasi ini juga sangat bermanfaat untuk membuat program kecil yang lengkap sampai ke laporan yang bisa digunakan untuk mempermudah pekerjaan sehari-hari. Murah, mudah dipelajari, bisa costumize sendiri sesuai dengan kebutuhan tanpa perlu beli program aplikasi yang mahal.
